Euclid Square Ads + Some lolz.

Here's some mall eye candy for you ESM junkies.

Click them and they get heap big.

This is from some sort of promotional pamphlet. 1977. I love that "may co." can be seen in the background.

This is from the same pamphlet. It's hard to believe now that the mall had so much to offer.

I've got a few more things to put up here eventually.

Now onto something I personally found to be rather amusing.

Checking my traffic tracker I see 3 consecutive links from http://www.middlebass.org/News.shtml!

I go to check it out thinking I'm in trouble AGAIN and what do ya know. Turns out I was providing a forum for fans of Ed!

Yes! Click here is the Dead Euclid blog!

Now it wouldn't be so funny if all 6 comments were pro-Ed but only one is and the moment I got it I though honestly he, or a close buddy, wrote it. Just sayin'.

I got a brand new camera (the best one ever, an SLR, not a point and shoot) and I totally know what I'm doing with it now. Once the powers that be get done with me, I'll try to get out and shoot some stuff. Lots has changed (the Dollar General complex got a new facade. Weee hee!) and there's stuff I never got around to shooting in the first place.

Finally, a whole new layout is in the works, so click those freaking feeds for a change.

Thanks.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Oh, and... Hi Chuck and Christine! I'll put some thought into those Dead Euclid t-shirts ;)

Happy belated Thanksgiving to you too. Im all about a Dead Euclid shirt. It would be tight if the shirt featured the es DeadEuclid blogspot sign on the front of the shirt. Id buy several!

I just called the number on the first ad, but it's disconnected.

No further information is available about it, either. So much for Euclid Square Mall. :-(

BTW...I'd TOTALLY wear a Dead Euclid t-shirt here in San Francisco. So would my sister in Cleveland Heights. She thought maybe some shirts with a heavily stylized picture of one of the fountains with a cool Dead Euclid logo under it. You've got a cool blog going here. Have fun with that SLR...I have one and it's amazing. You have a good eye, and a quick wit. I look forward to what else you create. :-)

I have lived around Euclid when I was younger, over the border in wickliffe. I moved around the age of 12 and was away for awhile. My grandmother lives in Euclid and used to got o the mall everyday. I remember the Woolworth's and berney shulamens, and of course the mall. I was quite sad when they closed.

I since moved into another bordering city, cleveland but I work in Euclid for a insurance agency. It angers me to see how run down this city has become. Its a shell of its former self and euclid seems to not even care. I hope you continue blogging about euclid, and I'd love to help.

Well you can add another soon to be empty store to your listings. The Value City in Euclid is closing. Won't be long until it too stands empty as a ghost of its former selves. I wonder if Euclid is getting worried yet? I know I am

It's Really sad about what happend to the mall and the whole city in general.I grew up there when it was still a semi ok place to live. Now the place is so freakin ghetto it might as well be a part of East Cleveland.I used to hear gunshots at night from my bed room, which sounded like they were VERY close by, I'd see hookers standing on the street corners, and even had sombody try to break into my house several times.I've since moved to Chippewa Lake in Medina county and love it.I live in an all white and what seems to be a crime free neighborhood. It's a good thing I got out when I did, because I found out that shortly after I moved, someone was shot and killed on the corner where I used to live! Euclid truly is the hood.

I was thinking about moving there to be closer to work...how would you rate the Euclid Police? Any special mentions? Do you happen to know any city stats about how safe it actually is to livee there? Any suggestions on the safer parts to look for apartments? Thanx....cool blog btw.
Thanks
